MoNS

A Fertilizer Formulated Specifically for Moss Cultivation

Enhance growth. Increase biomass density. Reduce maintenance cycles.

MoNS (Moss Nutrient Fertilizer) is an inorganic compound fertilizer developed specifically for moss cultivation. Unlike conventional fertilizers designed for root-fed plants, MoNS is built around the foliar absorption physiology of moss — which absorbs water and nutrients entirely through its stems and leaves. With an NPK ratio of 9-10-28 and a proprietary micronutrient blend, MoNS delivers nutrients in forms and ratios calibrated for industrial moss production.

In controlled 30-day laboratory trials, moss cultivated with MoNS showed approximately 30% faster growth compared to moss grown with rainwater.

MoNS is manufactured by Code of Nature, a biotechnology company established in South Korea in 2021.

Why Regular Fertilizers Fail for Moss — And What MoNS Does Differently

※ Images shown are for illustrative purposes only. Actual product appearance may vary.

Moss is not like other plants. It has no root system. Instead, moss absorbs water and nutrients entirely through its leaves and stems — a process called foliar absorption. This fundamental biological difference means that conventional fertilizers, designed for root-fed plants, are not optimized for moss.

High-concentration NPK fertilizers can stress moss cells and suppress growth. General-purpose micronutrient blends do not account for the specific ratios moss requires. Most fertilizers available on the market were not developed or tested on bryophyte species.

MoNS was developed through bryophyte-specific research. It uses ammonium-form nitrogen — more efficiently absorbed by moss leaf tissue — combined with phosphorus and potassium in ratios that support moss physiology. In laboratory trials, MoNS-treated moss showed measurably greater growth and biomass density compared to rainwater controls.

Laboratory and Field Trial Data: MoNS Performance Summary

The following data reflects results from controlled laboratory trials and field tests conducted in South Korea. All figures represent comparisons against the best-performing control group tested, which included rainwater and distilled water. Results are presented as observed trial outcomes and do not constitute a guarantee of identical performance under all growing conditions.

How to Apply MoNS: Recommended Application Method

MoNS is a water-soluble powder fertilizer designed for foliar application. It is compatible with standard misting and drip irrigation equipment. No equipment modification is required.

Standard Application Procedure

1

Dissolve 1 g (0.04 ounce) of fertilizer in 1 L (0.26 gallon) of water. Use warm water for faster dissolution.

2

Stir or shake until completely dissolved. No undissolved particles should remain.

3

Spray evenly on leaf surfaces. Use approximately 500 mL (16–18 fl oz) of diluted solution per 30 × 60 cm (12 × 24 in) moss tray.

4

Repeat every week during the growing season.

5

Coverage: Approximately 360 m² (approx. 3,875 sq ft) per kilogram of product under standard application conditions.

Moss Application Areas

MoNS moss nutrient fertilizer for industrial sphagnum moss cultivation — shorter harvest cycle and higher yield
1

For Industrial Moss Growers

Moss and Sphagnum moss cultivation typically involves long regeneration cycles.

MoNS (Moss Nutrient Fertilizer for cultivation) has been evaluated under controlled conditions, where trial observations showed improved growth performance and increased harvest density in both moss and sphagnum moss.

For industrial moss growers, these results translate to the following operational benefits:

  • Shorter time to reach harvest-ready condition, enabling earlier and more frequent harvesting
  • Denser growth for higher usable yield from the same growing area
  • Greater resilience to short-term moisture fluctuations, supporting more manageable cultivation conditions

Field test results reflect observed outcomes under specific test conditions and do not constitute a guarantee of identical performance in all cultivation environments.

MoNS moss fertilizer for green wall and landscaping installation — faster establishment and denser coverage
2

For Landscapers and Greenery Installers

MoNS is suitable for live moss applications across indoor and outdoor landscaping projects, including green walls, moss panels, rooftop greening, public landscape projects, and architectural greenery installations. It is easy to apply on-site and fits standard maintenance workflows through simple dilution and spray application.

These features provide the following practical benefits:

  • Faster establishment and short-term drought tolerance, supporting stable moss coverage after installation
  • Denser moss growth, improving surface coverage and overall visual quality
  • Greater tolerance to moisture fluctuations, reducing the need for frequent adjustment and maintenance

MoNS supports moss under standard cultivation conditions and does not replace basic maintenance. It is not effective under extreme conditions where moss cannot survive, or for use on preserved moss.

MoNS terrarium moss nutrient solution — uniform growth and no visible residue after application
3

For Terrariums

MoNS is suitable for moss terrariums and terrarium-related products. It works well with simple care routines such as misting and hand spraying.

These features provide the following practical benefits:

  • Encourages healthy and uniform moss growth for a more even terrarium surface
  • Supports denser moss growth, improving surface coverage and overall visual quality
  • Helps maintain visual stability over time, reducing the need for frequent adjustment and maintenance
  • Leaves no visible residue after application while helping preserve the moss's natural morphology and quality

MoNS supports moss under normal terrarium care conditions, but does not replace basic care such as watering, misting, and environmental management. It is not suitable for preserved moss or for conditions in which live moss cannot survive.

MoNS growing media and substrate distributor SKU — water-soluble powder fertilizer 2kg and bulk 10–25kg
4

For Growing Media and Substrate Distributors

MoNS is suitable as a complementary SKU alongside growing media, substrate, peat, and specialty fertilizer product lines distributed to commercial moss growers, paludiculture operators, and landscape contractors. It is supplied in water-soluble powder form with standardized dilution ratios, enabling straightforward handling within existing warehousing and B2B logistics flows.

These features provide the following practical benefits:

  • Fills a product-category gap as a moss-specific nutrient fertilizer, allowing bundled positioning with substrate and growing media lines
  • Ships as a stable powder format with a standard 2 kg pouch and bulk 10–25 kg options, supporting existing MOQ and freight structures
  • Supported by technical documentation including SDS, application protocols, and controlled trial data, enabling sales teams to reference consistent product information

MoNS is intended for distribution to customers operating under standard moss cultivation conditions. It is not positioned as a substitute for substrate or growing media, and is not intended for preserved moss product lines.
